The daily appointment with the white canvas that, far from making him anguished, as the white page did with Apollinaire, incredibly attracts him and the creative act involves and overwhelms him and gives a sense to his everyday life. “Nullus dies sine linea” our ancestors used to say to exhort young people to their daily work. The latin expression has a double significance to our artist, it has to be understood both in metaphorical and in literal sense.
As a matter of fact, it is exactly the “line” he draws becoming drawing and filling up with colour, it makes him love it, it moves him, and makes Antonio Insulla’s every day life, as he says, become a special adventure. He always thanks heaven for it.
